| The South Lyon Area Pumpkinfest was started 26 years ago by the late Dean Sparks. Over the years, the event grew from a craft and antique show to a weekend-long celebration of crafts, music, community and of course, everyone's favorite fall product: the pumpkin!
In 2009, the Pumpkinfest Committee adopted leadership of festival organization and planning. The Committee has enhanced Pumpkinfest with even more fun things to do and popular live entertainment. Today the festival is an exciting mix of community traditions and all-ages fun. New for 2010, Pumpkinfest will be located on the streets of historic downtown South Lyon (10 Mile Road and Pontiac Trail) and the festivities will include a beer tent, as well as two entertainment stages.
